working with others

Another aspect of my current T&T graphic designer has been learning to work with the marketing team.

In the past, if I were to design a poster, I was always the one who chooses what to put on it, what the copywriting was and where to put it. However now, it is the marketing people that decides on the copywriting. (sometimes way too much writing)

It was quite difficult at first. I have came up with some quite horrible designs in the first few weeks. (it is getting better now) I am still getting used to working with other people's requirements. That logo must go there. It must be that colour. etc etc. Some times the designers just have to compromise. However I have realized something. An experienced designer can take those requirements and still come up with a great design. (we got one in the team. Her designs are very intriguing always.) So I am still working towards that. Lets hope I get there soon.
