Hi andrew! I just randomly came across your blog when I was doing research for one of my assignments. My name is julie and Im a 2nd year industrial design student at university of technology, Sydney (UTS). Im actually interested in doing exchange or study abroad in the states next year. I would be very interested if you could let me know where the best places to study industrial design are I would really love to know. Thanks! Julie.
Hi Julie, great! exchanges should be a wonderful experience. We have students from europe all the time. So far none from australia though, i don't know if we have a partner school there. You might have to check.
Having said that, Emily Carr University is actually in Canada, not in the states. So I only know schools in Canada. There is my school, Emily Carr University and another one that I have heard is Ryerson in Toronto, Ontario.
Oh yeah.. Ive heard of Ryerson, I think my faculty has a partnership with them.. MAYBE
And I realised Vancouver > Canada.. Haha. It clicked after I sent that message but wasn't bothered to correct myself. I actually have considered going to Canada for exchange as well and if not either Sweden or the Netherlands. I'm really only looking at my options so far.
Anyway its always nice to know someone doing the same thing overseas, I myself am actually quite interested in packaging design as well so its been interesting flicking through your grad project posts. All the best for that by the way! :)
