In the beginning when I was deciding what to include in my packed (a series of packaging designs) degree project, my teacher recommended that I go around the island and ask to see if there were any businesses willing to partner with me.

In the end, Artisan Sake Maker, located right behind our school came through. I had done some research beforehand, so I Kinda knew which product from them I wanted to redesign.

Through this past 8 months, I truly learned a lot, things that I would never had a chance to learn in school. Communicating with the client, liaison with the manufacturers, are two of the biggest things that I had learned. I remembered in January the project almost stopped completely because of budget issues. It was a stressful time for me as I scrambled to try to come up with solutions.
Coming out of this experience definitely had made me a much more prepared designer. It really was the right decision to partner with a business in my project. Although this was probably the hardest project out of the series, but it was definitely worth the experience.
(as the project finished, I put together a document for my client which included all the files, designs and contacts. Along with it I also attached a summary of my experience working with Artisan Sake Maker, hoping to remain this client relationship.)
